Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has declared a 2-week Christmas holiday for civil servants in Imo State, Punch reports.

Sam Onwuemeodo, Chief Press Secretary to Okorocha, released a statement saying civil servants should vacate work on Friday, December 22, 2017, and resume Monday, January 8, 2018.

Salaries up to December have been paid, he said, and the holiday gives them enough time to celebrate with their loved ones. He said:

“Government has paid salary to workers in the state up to December to enable them also enjoy the Christmas. This is to wish them a blissful yuletide.”
